De que trata:

Blue Valentine es la historia del descubrimiento y perdida del amor narrada en momentos pasados y presentes. Inundados de recuerdos románticos de su noviazgo, Dean y Cindy utilizan una noche para tratar de salvar su fracasado matrimonio.

Puntuación: 10/10

'Blue Valentine' nos muestra una historia real sobre el amor a primera vista, o segunda, según se mire, de lo fácil y distendida que puede ser una relación al principio, y lo complicada y monótona que llega a ser cuando pasa algún tiempo, y de las repercusiones que tienen los sacrificios que se hacen por amor.

Es una de las que ha causado cierta polémica causada por cierta escena de índole sexual y la clasificación otorgada a la película a causa de la misma… después de verla diré que tampoco es para tanto, cosas más explicitas y subiditas de tono se han visto antes, y no han creado tanto alboroto. No sé la escena esta rodada con tanta simplicidad que no resulta chocante, y al menos para mí, nada ofensiva, ni polémica.

Más polémico me parece el hecho de que Ryan Gosling haya sido totalmente ignorado, su interpretación en esta película es sin lugar a dudas unas de las mejores del año, con permiso de Colin Firth a estás alturas, por supuesto. También con permiso de Williams, porque considero que se merece su nominación, y mucho, pero también pienso que Ryan incluso se la merecía más.

Es dura y cruda, porque podría ser la historia de cualquiera, y Williams y Gosling están tan sumamente metidos en su papel que no cuesta nada sentir lo que quieren trasmitir y acabas entendiendo a la perfección los dos puntos de vista de la relación en todos los estadios de la misma. Los dos actores vivieron juntos durante un tiempo para prepararse para esta película y realmente la química en pantalla funciona entre ellos a la perfección.

Narrada intercalando flashbacks con el presente, para que el espectador pueda comparar como eran y como son, de donde venimos y a donde vamos, mientras ellos intentan salvar un matrimonio que se hunde por su propio peso, el cual empezó con un noviazgo que podemos calificar de tener cierto aire platónico.

Lo mejor de la película, no obstante, es su guión y su fotografía, por como está estructurada en su conjunto y todo lo que vemos en pantalla, los sutiles cambios de tonalidad, según el momento de la relación en que no situamos, el ritmo ligero y despreocupada en los flashbacks y pesado y algo más lento en el presente. He de añadir por lo tanto una mención a la gran labor de dirección, de Derek Cianfrance, en este su primer largometraje, los resultados son prueba de la misma.

Las caracterizaciones también están logradas, podemos ver el paso de los años en los protagonistas, sin que resulte extraño.

La banda sonora es preciosa y no pasa desapercibida, algo que es de agradecer, porque muchas veces las bandas sonoras son bonitas pero luego se pierden al juntarlas con las imágenes.

La recomiendo, eso si, tiene obviamente esas escenas subiditas de tono y explicitas, que he comentado antes, así que a quién no le guste ver ese tipo de cosas en pantalla, queda avisado, pero no es motivo por el que dejar de verla.

Los premios Honoríficos se entregaron el pasado 13 de Noviembre durante una cena en los 2nd Annual Governors Awards. El Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award fue concedido al producto y director Francis Ford Coppola y los Honorary Awards al historiador y preservador Kevin Brownlow, al director Jean-Luc Godard y al actor Eli Wallach.

Los premios Científicos y Técnicos, se presentaran en una gala independiente el día 12 de Febrero en el Hotel Beverly Wilshire en Beverly Hills.

De que trata:

127 horas es la verdadera historia del alpinista Aron Ralston, una extraordinaria aventura de supervivencia donde el protagonista logró sobrevivir tras golpearse contra las rocas, herirse un brazo y quedar atrapado en el interior de una aislada grieta de un cañón en Utah. Durante los cinco días siguientes Ralston examina su vida y sobrevive a las adversidades para descubrir finalmente que tiene el coraje y los medios suficientes para liberarse a sí mismo. Una emocionante y visceral historia que te llevará hacia un viaje nunca antes experimentado y que demostrará lo que podemos hacer cuando optamos por vivir.

Puntuación: 8/10

'127 Horas' es otra muestra más de que no hace falta tener un reparto numeroso para hacer una buena película, y que si tienes las herramientas necesarias, un único actor, es capaz de mantener el ritmo y la calidad de todo el conjunto de la película.

No voy a compararlas más allá de este dato, pero James Franco es en esta lo que es, Ryan Reynolds en 'Buried'… resumiendo en una palabra (bueno dos): la Película.

James Franco está tan increíblemente creíble, si y soy redundante, que yo casi ni pestañeé viendo la película. Pasa por tantos niveles de emociones y de interpretación que durante los 90 minutos que dura la película no te da tiempo ni ha pensar si quedará mucho o no para que acabe la película, simplemente como el personaje, te preguntas si queda mucho para que salga de su trampa o no, ya que claro ya entras sabiendo que va a salir, porque esta basada en el libro escrito por el protagonista, donde contó su experiencia.

El montaje y la fotografía son arriesgados pero impecables, debido al entorno en el que se centra la acción principal, resulta agobiante, algo primordial, dada la situación narrada.

La banda sonora es precisa, acompañando la acción en pantalla paso a paso.

No voy a hablar del resto de actuaciones en particular, el trabajo coral es bueno, pero el resto de personajes pasa brevemente por la pantalla.

James Franco a mi parecer se merece las nominaciones que se le están otorgando, y debido que hasta la fecha no he visto 'El Discurso del Rey', no voy a decir que se merezca los premios más que Colin Firth, pero ya que Jesse Eisenberg se ha llevado alguno, y aunque me gusta Eisenberg y me gustó en 'The Social Network', si pienso que se los merece más que él.

Sobre el tema-polémica sobre la realidad de las imágenes y algunos espectadores desmayándose en los cines, diré que evidentemente unas personas son más impresionables y sensibles que otras, a mí dicha escena me creo angustia pero no por la escena en si, si no porque se ve venir, y se recrea en el momento previo, quizás más tiempo del necesario.

¿La recomiendo? Sí, la recomiendo y mucho, eso si, si eres sensible a *la sangre*… vete mentalizado, lo mismo te desmayas.

Trivia:

-Aron Ralston grabó un video diario mientras estuvo atrapado en el cañon. El metraje solo lo han viesto amistades cercanas y familiares, y está guardado en una caja fuerte. Antes de empezar el rodaje se permitió a James Franco y al director, Danny Boyle, ver esas grabaciones para llevar a la pantalla la historia lo mejor posible.

-La camara de video que usa James Franco en la película, es de hecho la que usó Aron Ralston cuando quedó atrapado en el Cañon Blue John.
