La Academia de Cine Europeo (European Film Academy - EFA) ha anunciado los 45 títulos de las películas seleccionadas para ser nominadas a los Premios de Cine Europeo en el 2011, en esta lista están representados 32 países y la gran variedad del cine Europeo.
Los 20 países con más miembros de la EFA, votando una película nacional que entra directamente en la lista. Esta lista inicial se complementa con las películas votadas por un Comité de selección de miembros de la EFA y un grupo invitado de expertos (Pierre-Henri Deleau (Francia), Marit Kapla (Suecia), Stefan Kitanov (Bulgaria), Derek Malcolm (UK) y Elma Tataragic (Bosnia y Herzegovina).
En las próximas semanas los 2.500 miembros de la EFA votarán por las nominaciones en cada categoría.
Las nominaciones se anunciarán el 5 de Noviembre en el Sevilla Festival de Cine Europeo (SEFF).
La ceremonia de premios de los 24th European Film Awards, en la que se presentaran los ganadores, tendrá lugar el 3 de Diciembre en Berlín y se retransmitirá online en directo desde la página de los Premios
